As a clothing retailer for 2 years I got to try all Nikwax products. Retired now for 4 years I only use Nikwax. I use it for woolens, base layers, skiwear & gloves, American made cotton outerwear, tents and backpacks, sleeping bags. I gift it at Christmas and birthdays (per request) to my married mountain biking, hiker, camping kids. I love that they are water based, easy to use and environmentally responsible. You can't go wrong with their products!Works greatI know we have all researched for the best detergent to wash our merino wool socks and $9.50 for 10 ounces is a little steep especially when you can use Woolite at $9.75 for 50 ounces of detergent. Nikwax works fine it’s a good detergent but let’s get real, are we buying the name or what’s really in the bottle.Merino base and all wool hunting clothes.I have been using this for many years.Still using it. It works great.Try it, you'll like it too.The only thing I'll ever wash my merino stuff with. Put gloves on and handwash, then put items in a delicate bag and use Nikwax in the washing machine if you need to do a really deep clean. This revived some of my Icebreaker and Smartwool tops, especially the under-arms of my older shirts from expeditions, they've been given a new lease on life. It's nothing too special, but it's a step above using regular detergent. It's a little on the pricey side for what it does and how much you get - there should be a much bigger bottle with a steep discount. So far, my favorite merino wash. No apparent residue, nothing overly fragrant.I had heard good reviews about this product and I was looking for something to use on some wool sweaters I have. One sweater I tried it on I have had for a good 15 years or more. I wanted to try and restore all the natural properties of wool and clean it at the same time. None of the local store's around me carried this particular product even though they carried other Nikwax items. After online price shopping I found the best deal here. Order shipped and I had it in hand within 5 days. Washed my sweater in the kitchen sink with luke warm water and a capful of soap. rinsed it 3 or 4 times. After the first rinse I could see how dirty the water was. Did the other 3 to make sure all soap was gone. Aired dried my sweater for 2 days and wore it. Looks brand new. I even got 2 comments in one day while wearing it. I think this product works great for wool. I would use it again and reccomend it to a friend.I had an old blanket that came from an old musty house. A quick wash in this and an air drying process soon got rid of the smell. No damage to blanket. Decent stuff10 out of 10..Good value and wool feels lovely after the wash with thisGreat stuff. Great value.Bought this product on January 25, 2021 for 13,99$ on Amazon Canada. The product in itself works GREAT for merino garments. I was scared to ruin my merino clothing but this works well. There is no particular smell to it, when the clothes dry they smell clean. Since you don't have to use so much product and merino clothing don't need to be washed after every use, the bottle will last me a while. But the shipping was not so good (Amazon's fault!). The product spilled a bit and it made it impossible to read anything on the bottle! I had to go on Nikwak website to know how much product to use (FIY it's 50 ml in a front loading machine). I wasn't too happy about that but at leat I was able to find the information on the Nikwax website. Won't buy this product through Amazon again, but I will definitely buy this product again.
